Hello!
Firstly, we would like to thank you for visiting our crowdfunding campaign. It means a lot to us that you are interested in our project.
Who We Are
SilverFish Theatre Collective Ltd. is a company created by me (Radostin Naydenov) in order to develop theatrical performances. We have twenty unique artists in our Company, each with their own set of skills and areas of expertise (and all of which complement those of the other Company members).
What We Hope to Achieve
We are interested in creating a performance piece in collaboration with Middlesex University, which we will perform in September 2019 (Dates TBA) at the University’s London campus in Hendon. You can find out more about our performance piece below.
We will then take our show on the road to Shumen in Bulgaria, performing at the “Drama and Puppet Theatre ‘Vasil Drumev’ between 14 and18th of October 2019.
Our aspiration is then to perform at the Vault festival in February 2020. VAULT Festival is London’s biggest, boldest and wildest arts and entertainment festival, hosting hundreds of events each year across Waterloo. In 2019, VAULT Festival showcased 400+ shows from more than 2,000 artists, featuring the best new writing in theatre and comedy, cabaret, immersive experiences, late night parties and more.
“Epic of the Forgotten”, our performance piece
The theme of our performance piece will relate to each individual Company member’s love of their homeland but also seek to highlight how similar we all our in our differences.
We are going to use twelve performers of multiple cultural, religious, ethnic and social backgrounds to achieve this. All of our performers have selected an individual piece to represent their culture and beliefs – from celebrated writings found in poetry, short stories, novels or literature from their home countries.
Each performer will be highlighted individually in their scene, speaking in their own language, while the remaining artists will communicate the story through a physical score.
Why this theme?
SilverFish TC Ltd. is interested in this topic as a way to show audiences that our love for our homeland does not limit our connection to people from different cultures and backgrounds.
We believe in creating a bridge between cultures and society without destroying their individuality and beliefs in the process. We aim to create art drawing on our individual strengths and using a variety of stimuli in order to research and develop original and pioneering work in the field of theatre and performing arts.
The Team
Why we need your support
We have created this fundraiser in order to raise the necessary monetary support we need to make the collaboration with the Theatre in Bulgaria happen.
We require support of:
- £2500 (two thousand and five hundred GBP) for the travel costs for all 20 (twenty) practitioners to Bulgaria and to the Theatre itself.
- £1500 (one thousand and five hundred GBP) for accommodation costs for all 20 (twenty) practitioners.
- £1000 (one thousand GBP) for food and sustenance for all 20 (twenty) practitioners.
The minimum we hope to raise is £2500 (two thousand and five hundred GBP) to cover travel expenses.
We hope to create a sense of community amongst artists on an international level and inspire future connections to prosper. We strive to make and create new and innovative collaborations and hope you can help us achieve these dreams in our humble beginning stages.
Other forms of support
If you are not in a position to provide us with any financial support, please share this fundraiser on any social media platforms that you may have so that we will have a higher chance of achieving the funding goal we so desperately need.
