Hello - this is Aga & Tufan here, and we would like to tell you a little bit more about our MDX Real Tennis Team.

We've had a great number of students joining the team this year and in the past couple of months we've had some amazing results.

We recently came back from the Inter-University Cup Tournament held in Cambridge where we had more players than any other University (12!) - half of which qualified for the next round! Three MDX players reached the quarter-finals, one the semi-final and another one came as a runner-up in the final. 

Two weeks ago we hosted Newcastle University here at our home club for a day packed full of real tennis. Our team did incredibly well winning eight out of nine matches! It was an amazing effort and contribution from our students, the majority of whom only started playing the game a month earlier. Bring on 2016! 

We have a very strong squad and we are aiming to take the team on tour all over the UK to play fixtures against other clubs and universities. Our next goal is to play against Oxford and Cambridge Universities; however, our main objective is to take our team to France - the country where it all began. 

We currently have 15 students playing in the team. The more money we raise, the more of us will be able to represent MDX at fixtures and the more home and away matches we will be able to organise! The opportunity for all of us to play on different courts will also definitely help to improve our game.

Real tennis brought us all together and we all share a passion for it - we believe that playing more fixtures will bring other students' attention to the game, show them why we love this sport so much and hopefully encourage them to try it out themselves. Also, wouldn't it be great to beat Cambridge or Oxford University?! Let's show them that together we can do anything!

In order to achieve our goals, we need your help! :) We are asking you to donate and support our student team. All of the money obtained will be put towards our fixtures here in UK and abroad & spent on:

- COURT FEES

- TRAVEL

-ACCOMMODATION

We have set up a minimum target of £5000, but our goal is to raise £8000 - it may seem like a lot of money, but the more we raise - more students we will be able to get involved in the fixtures.

Considering cost of tickets from London to Paris (around £60 per person), accomodation (£40 per person per night - probably for 3 nights , so £120) and court fees (it's hard to estimate the cost, as it all depends on the deal we get/numbers of students playing etc, but probably around £30 per person), gives us amount of £250 per person. We have 15 students in the team: 15*£250=£3750 (for Paris fixture only). As mentioned before, Paris is not our only goal, as we would like to play against other clubs and universities as well (Oxford, Cambridge, Newcastle, Bristol, Exeter, Durham, Warwick)- all the money would go towards those fixtures as well.
